visits.

seeded baguette.
there's something pretty rad about bakeries.
i mean,
bread is really good.
and bakeries themselves are also really good.
i rarely bump into a baker who is a huge a-hole.
something to do with patience i guess.
and natural fermentation.
change.
catalyzed by nature.
that's word.
it's the magic in the air that starts bread to be dope,
and the grains, too.
who'd guess ground up grass seeds could be so awesome?
baking bread, ya'll.
it's the kind of culinary art that seems earthier,
and gentler,
than just plain old cookin'.
hell,
master chefs are almost always huge a-holes.
that's actually my most vivid memory of watching the food network back in the day.
a-holes.
don't get me wrong,
i love food.
i just hate overly-fancy self-important food-makers.
i'm sayin',
i could just eat ramen noodles, and survive for a while on that.
there's just somethin' about bread though, right?
the staff of life an' all that.
back in the good old days,
all bread was naturally leavened,
and always whole grain.
it was basically a completely supportive food.
and don't forget gathering cultivated grain,
coupled with the hot hot fire,
marked man as mastering nature,
or at least harnessing the woodsly goodness.
i guess that's why i like bakeries so much.
all the hot fire harnessin' and nature magic makin'.
even with commercial yeast,
and steam injected ovens,
breadmakers are my homies...
however,
after all the advances in breadmaking over the years,
grocery store sandwhich bread kinda fell off.
all wettish, and whitish, and weakish.
then,
stuff got labeled the greatest thing since sliced bread?
talk about settin' the bar pretty low;
sliced white bread can go suck a fat one, ya'll.
i like my luscious loaves mad crusty,
and thick,
and brown.
word.

my ma and her friend arlene are on their way up.
that should be cool.
vegan soup and barbarian bonfires are scheduled to commence at nightfall.
family is a weird thing, sometimes.
maybe even all the time.
but still,
seein' one of the culprits of my creation is always a pretty refreshing way to span some time.
if all else fails,
i've got some tasty-ass bread to dunk in my soup.
within the hour, ya'll,
big fun get-togethers will begin gettin' it together,
never quiet, never soft....
