the page turns,
the clock ticks one exxxtra tock,
and here we are:
september.
the end and the beginning and the crossover median between light and dark.
september is a grey jedi, bro.
that's no joke.
we're here, at the start, with all the opportunities and possibilities ahead of us-
of course,
that is true of the obstacles and hindrances as well,
but,
i'm betting we can hurdle the turds,
and hunker down like turtles against the flood tide.
word!
ANYway,
you know what happens when we switch things over to the new-new, don'tcha?
yup.
cultivated coincidences,
and focused fortuitous forces come together under the echoes and reverberations
of the energetic utterance of the magic F*ing words.
huh?
oh, C'MON.
you know about this, neighbors.
first things first,
and again when we wake up for realsies,
we say the silly thing with all seriousness,
and summon serendipity to our doorsteps-
yup.
out loud, fresh and hard, we spit that hot fire:

it's documented i said it; i meant it.
and now,
we can resume our race to opening day with a touch more optimism,
placebo or otherwise.

WHAT THE F*EVEN ARE THESE TINY EGGPLANTS??!?!!
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn,
they're dope AF is what they are.
and that's no joke.
they're the size of, well, eggs!
and while they've got seeds aplenty,
they've also got flavor in spades.
delicious is an understatement.
i quartered, oiled, and slated 'em,
and set a panful in the oven while it preheated to 490℉.
by the time the oven was hot, those slivers were well-roasted, and ready to go.
expert.
dudes,
this pizza pie was the right call for my nighttime nourishment.
seriously.
a shredded smattering of daiya smoked gouda, fresh off the ol' block?
hell yeah!
purply brown sweet big-grape tomato slices?
oh MAN they're tasty.
chick peas tossed with smoked paprika and cayenne?
yup yup yup.
caramelized onions, red and sweet and that?
ooooooooooooooh, boi, you already know.
plus fried garlic sprankles, because rules is rules.
and then,
just because too much is the right amount,
there's baby kale,
to colorize the jaun with a little verdant victual victory against all those earth tones.
ok,
AND i might've dashed it with a little nootch to activate any latent hottness, as well.
...i'm like that.

i've been heavy into the convection setting on my oven, especially for pizza.
it gets that crust hella crispy, and bakes it faster,
and keeps it realer.
what else even is there?
right?

today is the day, friends.
the big one.
the official last friday of the unofficial summer season.
you dig?
so what am i doing?
work.
no.
non-profit, naturally.
but, work, in earnest,
to activate all the last little vestiges of hottness before the fall falls into place.
this is IT.
one last big purchase push to get us where we need to go,
and from here on out,
it'll be seven days a aweek of strong and powerful tattootime triumphs.
