it's the first of the month!
the first day of a whole other 'nother new and improved,
hot, fresh, full-bore, big-deluxxxe, hard-style end-of-summer august rush!
woo-ha, yee haw, heck yes, and so on and so forth.
this is it.
the premier. the debut. the big reveal.
august.
it's august, right now.
and guess what i did,
literally right off, first thing, in real-time,
simultaneously as the clock and the calendar both turned at once?
c'mon, man.
you know.
rules is rules-
.......i said the thing you say to attract all the superstitious sentiments to your face
and soak up all the fortuitous circumstance that an intentional invocation
of cultivated coincidences can conjure from a single word, repeated.
uh-huh.
rabbit! rabbit!
i said it, i spit it, i spoke it as i woke up from a genuine deep sleep,
almost exactly at midnight-
yup.
that's what we do, dudes, because that's how it is done.
some other things we do around here?
baking, breaking, making, and taking-
all at once; sometimes all in a row; occasionally not in that order,
but all of it is always really happening-
that's the move, and that's what's up.
for example,
i made some wild maine-border-new hampshire-type blueberry bars.
i mean, y'gotta get into the mood, dudes,
and what's more augusty than bloobs?
that's a thing.
check the teleport:
....AND I MADE THE MUTHA-EFFERS GLUTEN-F*ING-FREE, TOO!!!
yuuuuuuuuup.
you wanna know HOW i did it?
ok. i'll tell ya:
-
*
BLÜBARS!
-
preheat your oven to 375℉
-
in a medium mixing bowl, cream together the usual suspects:
>1 cup organic sugar;
1/2 tsp salt;
1 stick vegan butter;
2 tsp vanilla.
mash it all into one mass, and stir in:
1/2 cup vanilla non-dairy yogurt.
mix well,
and add:
1 cup almond-blend gf flour;
1/3 cup chick pea flour;
2/3 cup 1:1 bob's gf baking blend;
1 tsp xantham;
1 T powdered eggless replacer blend;
3 T tapioca flour;
2 tsp baking pow-pow;
1 tsp baking soda;
1 cup non-dairy s'milk.
whip it all up with a spatula,
and spread it in a greased and gently gf floured brownie pan-
next, add:
1 cup gf quick oats,
and 1+ cup wild maine bloobs all over the top.
put it in the oven, and turn the heat immediately down to 350℉.
i dunno why it likes this, but it does, so do it, and be delighted.
bake it for 30ish minutes, taking care not to let it get all kinds of dry.
remove it, and let it cool completely IN the pan.
that's key.
gf baking hates being warm.
it implodes and explodes and disintegrates and that's weak, neighbors,
and therefore, NOT invited.
word.
-
i also added that blueberry drizzle,
because the exxxtra-sexxxiness never hurt anybody,
and besides that: too much is the right amount:
1/2 cup powdered sugar;
1/4 tsp vanilla;
1/4 tsp lemon extract;
1 T powdered freeze-dried blueberries;
2+/- T non-dairy milk-
it's icing, bro, add liquid if you have to, so you can drizz it all over the place.
i trust you to know about what you like, and to adjust the proportions as needed,
in order to realize your preferred flavors.
see?
i believe you're capable, and who knows? that might even be true.
***********
AUGUST!
this is what's poppin'.
i'm ready.
i'm excited.
i've got all sorts of plumbing and carpentry and move-making
and house-shaking big action going on-
i can't believe it's all really happening,
even though that's how it always been, and always will be...
today is the day.
the first one.
the best one.
the real one;
never quiet, never soft.....
