Friday, June 3

brothers.

scott and seth, suckas.
the avett brothers.
live and in concert.
it went to eleven.
loud. fresh. hard.
it had all the elements.
and it rocked all of our socks off.
neighbors,
you know who opened up for 'em?
john mutha-uckin' oates.
(without his moustache, and with a country twang)
i'm serious.
did he play man eater?
of course.
*
y'all know we keep it pretty rural,
and very socially stand-offish,
which means we don't get rad with the city folks.
they are so the sh!ttiest ones, y'all.
how many beers does it take to appreciate some music?
non-stop amounts, i guess.
and man oh man,
was i further polarized in my opinions
by the barely-dressed-as-overdressed bar skanks
gushing out their weak sauce for those brothers.
sure, they're talented and handsome,
but should i be able to see up your skirt,
AND into your body cavity.... in the dark?
maybe.
i'm just sayin'.
duders,
for real, i can't hang out.
i love live music, i can't stand concerts.
or maybe just concertgoers?
*
a brutal platterful of a smattering of soy helped us
rep an eagle's eggs-type hard-style at the show.
huh?
they gave me the nutrients, kids.
c'mon.
courtesy of the green elephant.
if you're in portland, maine anyway,
and you don't get the soy nugs
and the barbarian brussles sprouts,
well,
you are definitely an A*-hole.
fact.
***********
it's friday.
you know: ciabatta be kiddin' me day.
yep.
a locally baked ciabatta loaf is headed into my bellyhole.
that's the bright spot on the horizon, ninjas.
i've got a whole day packed with tat-blastin',
and a whole morning full of chores.
the afterglow of last night's hottness is still
warming me up,
and the harsh winds outside are totally cooling me off.
life is happening.
Folk Life is happening.
it's ALL really happening.
that's the whole point.
woodsly goodness in full effect.
i'm yours, and that's it......forever;
never quiet, never soft.....
