awwwww, man.
it's the last day in town.
for everybody.
i'm serious.
harvest, maple, rebexpert, and the cucchie.
all of 'em.
out of here.
scattered to the far reaches on non-woodsly goodness.
holy crap.
i think i've got empty nest syndrome.
alas,
the Fortress is gonna seem pretty quaint and quiet for a few.
i guess i can hang out with that.
besides,
after today's feasts,
we're all bloated and ready for a fast fast.
and maybe a break from competetive symbiotic shark gluttony.
yuuuuuup.
when you know it's gonna be a last-day scenario,
you need to power up from the wake-up jauns.
we started our day off really right, neighbors:
panniecakes!
piles of vegan fluffy ones that actually
are both vegan and fluffy,
and thus correctly named as such.
fact.
then,
after beachtimes,
and riverside ramblings,
and a trip to the gun shop,
and a grocery run,
with sorbet scooples in between,
there was a cookout for our faces.
scrimps on the barbie, y'all.
for real:
vegan pseudo-scrimplers,
with no poop yarn to pull out of their krinkles, either.
the obvious food prep method for hundred-degree weather?
...grillin'.
because hot fire and hot coals make everything better, b!tches.
***********
everybody is leaving.
it doesn't seem right.
but even family togetherness has it's limits, i guess.
i am grateful for the extensive and extended time we've shared.
real life.
as it just so happens to happen;
never quiet, never soft.....
