mice and men

awwwwwww, man.
mice, voles, and little night-time skritchers.
i guess we've got a serious infestation.
it's morning,
and i can totally hear a defiant little A*-hole
scuttling about under our cabinet.
it's not that we're dirty skanks, either-
so kill that noise in your thoughtwaves;
now that the doo-doo construction men have ravaged
the entire natural habitat of our little big-eared buddies,
they've decided that the fortress is the place to be.
there's so much space, and food, and everything.
the little F*-tards don't even try to hide.
they'll totally run right by the whole
it's like they WANT the dog to flip out,
and go apesh!t bananas.
(which, you can be sure, does wonders for MY peace of mind)
now it looks like they're puttin' in vermin condominiums:
hahahahaha.
c'mon.
those're actually wall-side blowholes for our new insulation.
the worker duders have swiss-cheeses my whole house.
the first floor looks like somebody shot it up,
with cannonballs.
and now that we can see inside all the mutha-b!tchin' spaces?
clarity of vision is always a struggle, ninjas.
there is honestly no insulation in any of these walls, kids.
just air.
cold air.
for now, anyway.
pretty soon, we'll be snugger than rug-bugs,
all roasty-toasted by the stove.
i've got a rockin' cast iron skillet around here somewhere,
so you can be sure that we'll even be roasting chestnuts
an' all that kind of old timey warmness-related activity.
hottness generates warmth.
warmth generates comfort.
comfort is it's own reward.
*
it rained like in the bible-type sh!t last night,
but it's warm and sunny today.
a P.F.D. ninjas.
it looks like it, anyway.
glistening autumn leaves.
low, foggy strands of cotton-candy clouds in-between
the mountains and the rivers.
bright blue skies.
and that's just the view out of my window.
woodsly goodness;
never quiet, never soft.....
