scone hearts?!
yup!
neighbors,
breakfast times are probably important.
i mean,
i keep hearing about how it's the most crucial of meals...
i eat it,
i get it,
i'm alright with it.
however,
instead of my daily routine of Tea'N'Toast,
sometimes, just on a lark,
i freak it off,
and get a little more expert than just a few slices and mug of irish brekkie.
mmhmmm.
today is that day,
and boy oh boy am i glad i made the exxxtra effort.
check the heart-of-scone-type teleport:
c'mon!
i heart 'em, and they heart me right back!
what's in 'em?
1 1/2 sticks of vegan butts,
a handful of sugar,
.5 tsp salt
1 cup allpurpz flour
2 cups spelt flour
3/4 cup fresh-coarse-ground rolled oats
1/4 cup tapioca
1.5 tsp baking kapow'
1.5 tsp baking soda
two big shakes of cinnamon-
all of that got creamed together with a pastry cutter,
leaving decent-sized lumps of butterish dispersed throughout-
to that,
i added 6oz vanilla soy yogurt
2 tsp vanilla exXxtract
3/4 cup almond milk with a T's squeeze of lemon juice
1 cup of bloobz,
1 cup of chopped pecans.
y'gotta knead for a minute, until it all clumps up,
and then,
it's important to fold and turn,
and fold again, and turn again,
over and over and over,
until you've got a damascus masterpiece of biscuity blending in front of you.
from there,
it's pat and punch and push into two circles,
and three cuts'll getcha 6 scones apiece.
the oven?
400F?
the time?
22 minutes.
in between,
there's a toasted pecan button,
and some raw sugar sprankles,
and maybe five minutes in the freezer to settle 'em down.
....it works.
for real,
just LOOK at 'em.
i got a full plate of blueberry hearts,
and i'm swooning over the flakiness.
***********
i've got so much work to do.
and that takes up a LOT of time.
what i need are more lists?
i read that somewhere.
also,
what i want is more hands.
the i could get way more accomplished.
i mean,
yes,
more order, firmer structure,
and better-planned and regimented activities could be a thing-
but MORE HANDS?
that's be so much more expert.
i could be holding a pen to make a list,
typing,
and eating a scone without any pauses.
awww.
it's cool, though,
because listing things is a strong suit of mine,
it's checking things off that needs work....
oh,
nope.
waitaminit-
i've been checking people OFF THE LIST for decades.
hahahaha.
i guess i should try it with chores, now.
working and working and working,
with small glimpses of time spent better,
with folks i enjoy so much more outside of the workplace.
that's what's up.
i'm making a list, kids,
and i'm checking it twice-
i want all the nicey-niceties,
and i'm writing down all the steps to get 'em.
this is What Is,
and that's what it's all about;
never quiet, never soft.....
