summer-summer-summerTIME

HEY-O!
it's summer,
it's cloudy,
and i'm pretty excited that the temperature is promising to drop.
huh?
yeah, that's right.
i'm just not a tropical kind of guy.
i AM a summer solstice treats kind of guy, though, and you can bank on that.
it doesn't have to be hot out for me to make some hottness happen,
and the less ambient hotness, the more that exxxtra T can get fully activated....
that's a thing
with the solstice skewing the light far beyond halfway,
and the night taking it up another 'nother notch with that big round spotlight
shining on our faces,
i HAD to get it poppin' and make us a tangy tart...
for the record,
i was uninformed about the presence of the strawberry moon,
and as such,
i used raspberries, per harvest and maple's request, for our summery pie.
neighbors,
i will confess that i don't pay attention to what flavor of moon it is-
sometimes the internet makes a bigger deal about it than other times,
and i hear of it through osmosis,
but the strawberry circle evaded my attention until midday.
i doubt my mood would've accommodated any changes to the schedule, anyway.
huh?
i get a little testy at best during the change of seasons,
without the lunar cycle adding any sauce on top.
it's just that the werewolfen berserker battle-beastliness shows up when it's FULL...
and so does the short-fused dynamite temper that's tethered to the beams
that baste my baldspot in lunatic lumens.
the big bright reflection of secret silver animorphic barbarian big action is all i see.
ha!
so,
my ignorance of the strawberry moon begat a raspberry tart.
it happens.
check the teleport:

guys, c'mon!
glutren free coconut cookie crust, lemon pastry creme,
and raspberry jammie-jamboree jam jauns,
with lemon zest sprankles,
and sugar cookie stars to make summer a sweeter prospect.
i doo-doo that tartly-type freaky-diki dope sh!t.
word.
what's in the crust?
jeez, i don't really all-the-way remember.
y'know somethin'?
crumbly cookie business is a pain-in-the-A*,
and i kept adding stuff to the mix to get it to hang tough-
and even after a pair  of repair jobs to the dough?
ugh.
still a disintegrating crumble.
it tastes great, but it can't hold up to the aggressive fork styles we rep
here in the Folk Life & Liberty Fortress.
real talk.
what?
ok, okay, okay.
i think it went something like this:
-
2 cups of coconut flour, for certain.
a stick of butterish, and maybe a couple more pats, as well.
lemon juice, lemon extract, and vanilla extract, in drippy teaspoonsful ,
a punch of vegan creamchee',
a scooch of xantham,
and sugar- a little less than a cup of it
-
all that, mashed up and pressed firm into the tart pan,
and rolled out with another Tablespoon of butterish and a punch of millet,
just to see if that'd help those stars stick it out (it did)
and baked at 350 for about 13 minutes,
which is an arbitrary timespan ties to how busy with the two other components i was.
speaking of-
i simmered 12 oz of frozen razzles,
half a cup of powdered sugar,
lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla and lemon extracts,
and tapioca all in one pot until it got good and thick,
and while that was gelling up,
i mixed up a quick batch of lemony pastry creme,
with it's italian bakery essence intact,
so i could stack all that good stuff on top of each other,
and give me and my people something good to eat.
yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup.
i waited and waited for 'em to wake up,
but when time was running out,
i did it myself.
the little red hen is only halfway accurate in the retelling.
when you're in charge of a houseful of hungry honeys,
even when they don't help, you've still gotta feed 'em,
or the cranky pants put the principle of participation in it's place.
no kidding.
so,
the sleepyheads get treats,
but only because summer circumstances are special, and so are my treats.
besides,
what good is an expert treat
without sharing it with folks who'll at least appreciatively devour it,
even if they were busy being unconscious during it's construction?
ummmmmm.
right.
generosity, gratitude, and doing what i do with or without you.
i guess i've got a system in place for everything.
it's all really happening,
and there's no getting away from it.
strawberry moon, raspberry tart, summer werewolf family togetherness;
never quiet, never soft.....
