paul,
a.k.a the cucch was here over the weekend...
and that was pretty expert.
whenever we get together,
we pick up instantly where we left off, as if we've never been apart.
i s'pose when you find your other on the quest for existential clarity,
there's an interconnectedness that transcends time and space.
for real.
we shared several meals,
me made the most of our minutes together,
he tolerated crabtree's insistent attentions,
and we teased ampy d in stereo.
all told,
it was a great time,
and i'm grateful for it.
i mean,
c'mon,
look at this guy:
ha!
the thing is,
he's a pizza man,
and while it may seem silly or self-indukgent, even,
to assume he wants to deal with pizza when he's NOT at work,
i still fired up a batch of new NEW dough,
and treated him to some Folk Life & Liberty Fortress flavors.
neighbors,
he was happy, we were happy,
and the pizza?
it isn't sentient, and i'm loath to anthropomorphize it,
but i'll bet it would've been crazy psyched if it had ANY idea how dope it was.
check the teleport:
three kinds of pizza on one sicilian pan??
you'd better believe it.
i don't half-step and i never step incorrectly.
i've got sure-footed mountainous goaten woodsly goodness on my side,
and i don't play around when it comes to tomato pies.
y'see that broccolini?
it's tender, with a baby bit of bite still in it,
plus,
despite being tomato-free,
the uderchee', daiya mozzarella, and cashew-garlic-cayenne overchee
all made up for any lycopene deficiencies.
naturally, there's also caramelized onions, and fried garlic sprankles, too,
because too much is the right amount,
and that's usually the theme of pizza party night up here anyhow.
after that, one upwards in the photo,
there's a much-more traditional sicilano square-style pepperoni jauns.
i love that one.
underchee', cashew magic topness, from-scratch twice-smoked pepperoni,
and finished with baby basil leafy greenery for the pure experience of
mystical wizardly pizza time.
mmmmmmmm.
last, but not least, by any means,
there's a three-chee' jamie-jam,
with pepperoni and onions-
underchee' is there, followed by the meltiest daiya cheddar slices,
and activated with daiya mozz',
which in turn got a zap of freshness with some chopped parsley spranx.
yeah!!!
fried garlic has changed the game up here.
i'm kind of all about it,
and i don't know if i can ever go back,
now that i know what's been missing all this time....
that's no joke.
also,
having the seal of approval, and the shovel-mouthed gluttony,
of my best and most trusted ace numero uno homeboy signing off
on bot the crust and those toppings?
damn, duders-
it feels like home when the house is full,
and the bellyholes are stuffed,
and the laughs are rolling out into the night.
family togetherness is expert.
in fact,
the trend continues,
as my kids are here now.
i'm lucky,
and i'm going to show my appreciation for this sequence of events
in the only way i know how.
with too much of everything.
that's the way it goes when we do what we do;
never quiet, never soft.....
